On 13th September 1962, test pilot George Aird ejected from an English Electric Lightning F1 at low altitude in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England. He survived by landing in a nearby greenhouse after ejecting. The photo was taken by Jim Meads, who had brought his children to watch the plane land
